Description:Provides professional care for clinic patients. Assists in managing and administering the back office services within the clinic.
Duties:(This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
1. Supervises patient care needs and suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems.
2. Monitors, coordinates and modifies staffing levels and schedules of back office staff, in coordination with clinic manager. This includes willingness to cover and/or float for back office staffing at clinical site, as necessary.
3. Serves as a liaison between front office and back office staff to ensure efficient communication and problem solving.
4. Consistently incorporates principles of safety and infection control into daily activities. Uses protective equipment and takes appropriate precautions. Practices safe body mechanics. Serves as a model of safety to others.
5. Coordinates and participates in hiring and interviews.
6. Participates in coaching and disciplinary actions of staff, including terminations.
7. Plans and facilitates staff meetings as necessary for clinical staff.
8. May serve as acting clinic manager in the manager’s absence.
9. Develops performance goals and objectives that support and promote excellent customer service.
10. Promotes a cooperative and pleasant work environment and works to encourage employee retention.
11. Assists clinic manager in annual performance reviews of clinical staff.
12. Serves as a role model for others through compliance with OMG policies, OSHA, and state/federal labor laws.
13. Plans and conducts initial training and continuing education of clinical staff.
14. Oversees assignments and quality of work of interns.
15. Coordinates voluntary flu vaccines. Records staff immunizations and forwards results to Human Resources.
16. Ensures compliance with regulations and with clinic standards of quality patient care.
17. Identifies and helps resolve operational problems.
18. Oversees the management of supplies of durable medical goods, medications and equipment for back office staff.
19. Monitors the supply of drugs, ordering supplies as necessary. Makes information available to staff and physicians. Is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of drugs in the clinic and the orderly distribution of medications.
20. Maintains effective working relationships with physicians and staff.
21. Assists clinic manager in the development of budgets and helps manage expenses.
22. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
23. Participates in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices.
24. Maintains strictest confidentiality regarding patient, personnel and business operations issues.
25. Ongoing Customer Service Training.
26. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:1. Knowledge of management and nursing supervision of clinical operations.
2. Ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
3. Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management practices.
4. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
5. Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, and decision making.
6. Knowledge of health care administration principles.
7. Knowledge of medical safety procedures and standard requirements to evaluate existing standards and implement new procedures.
8. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing.
9. Skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting information.
10. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
11. Skill in written and verbal communication.
12. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
13. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.

Education: AA, BSN or LPN in nursing from an accredited school of nursing or graduate of an accredited
program for Medical Office Assistants.

Experience: Three years of professional clinical experience required.
