Description:Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.
Duties:(This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
1. Channels all incoming calls and routes calls to appropriate departments.
2. Responds to emergency calls according to established procedures.
3. Communicates general clinic information.
4. Uses paging system according to procedure.
5. Organizes and efficiently handles switchboard equipment.
6. Basic secretarial support including opening and sorting mail.
7. Maintains information in a confidential manner.
8. Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
9. Checks in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record.
10. Receives payments from patients and issues receipts.
11. Schedules appointments for patients.
12. Pulls charts.
13. Serves as liaison between patient and medical staff support.
14. Ongoing Customer Service Training.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:1. 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
2. 1-2 years of experience in working with the public.
3. Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine.
4. Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
5. Strong customer service skills in a fast-paced team environment.
6. Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
7. Equivalent of a high school diploma.
8. Ability to speak fluent Spanish preferred.
9. Strong organizational skills.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One year of experience in a medical setting. General clerical experience preferred, with some exposure to medical terminology.
