| Description: | Assists in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management. |
| Duties: | (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
1. Escorts patients to room and assists in determining medical problem.
2. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
3. Takes patient histories and vital signs.
4. Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and/or testing.
5. Stocks supplies.
6. Gives injections and applies splints and dressing.
7. Assists physicians in preparing for minor surgeries.
8. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
9. Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
10. Assist in the referral process.
11. Maintains patient confidentiality.

| Qualifications: | LPN REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. 1-2 years of professional nursing experience and/or supervisory experience.
3. Possession of a State Registered LPN license.
4. CPR Certification.
5. Skill in assisting a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
6. Skill in taking vital signs.
7. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
8. Must be flexible, quick learner.
MOA REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2-3 years of relevant experience.
2. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred; graduation from an accredited MOA program required.
3. Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care.
4. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications.
5. Skill in taking vital signs.
6. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
7. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with physicians, patients and co-workers.
8. Current healthcare provider level CPR certification required.
9. Must be flexible, quick learner.
10. Ability to multi-task and float to any position.
BOA REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care.
2. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
3. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
4. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
5. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
6. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
7. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
8. Skill in taking vital signs.
9. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
10. Assist in maintaining department quality assurance.
11. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
12. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
13. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
14. Ability to communicate clearly.
